REMINDER: February Together 2023 Community Workshops Coming Soon! We hope you can join us!

This year, San Rafael City Schools is embarking on a journey to create a new three-year strategic plan. Grounded in our vision for student success, we are engaging the greater SRCS community to develop our District values, core skills, three-year goals and strategic actions. We are calling this important undertaking "Together 2023" and you're invited to participate!

We held an initial set of Community Workshops in November focused on identifying and defining the skills our students need to succeed. We were thrilled to have so many people participate and share valuable input! Now, our work continues.

Please join us at our upcoming Community Workshops in February! We need your help brainstorming high-leverage actions - what makes a difference in our classrooms and schools for students.

These are regional workshops hosted at schools across the District - you are encouraged to attend whichever session is most convenient for you, with all four February sessions being identical.

All workshops are open to all students, teachers, staff, families, community members and partners. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

    Greetings Glenwood Eagle Community,

I welcome you all to the 2019-2020 school year. We are ramping up for a wonderful year of engaged learning and joyful community spirit.

If you are new to Glenwood and we haven’t met, I want to introduce myself as your child’s principal. My name is Jason Richardson and I am thrilled to be starting my second year here at Glenwood. This is such a warm, welcoming and engaged school community. It makes me very happy to be part of the nest.

Please know that my office door is almost always open and I always want to get to know the whole school community and make individual connections. If you would like to contact me, please don’t hesitate. You can always call the school office at 485-2430 or email me at I am available to set up individual meetings or to speak with you over the phone.

We have an amazing school and we will keep gently pushing ourselves to continue to grow as educators, students, and as a school community. We are a united staff and we leverage this unity to support the whole school community while counting on the amazing parents to support us. We are truly interdependent. This is going to be a year full of positive growth and learning for us all.

Gold Ribbon SchoolsSACRAMENTO—State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson today announced that 780 elementary schools are being honored under the Gold Ribbon Schools Awards Program

"These schools shine as bright beacons for others, putting forth an exemplary effort to ensure that every student is ready for 21st century college and careers," Torlakson said. "California teachers are developing an education model for the nation, training the students of today to be the problem-solvers, inventors, and pioneers of tomorrow."

The California Gold Ribbon Schools Award was created to honor schools in place of the California Distinguished Schools Program, which is on hiatus while California creates new assessment and accountability systems. Nearly 6,000 elementary schools were eligible to apply this year.

Schools applied for the award based on a model program or practice their school has adopted that includes standards-based activities, projects, strategies, and practices that can be replicated by other local educational agencies. The award recognized middle and high schools last year.

The Gold Ribbon Awards recognize California schools that have made gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education. These include the California Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, California English Language Development Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.

Please visit the California Gold Ribbon Schools Program on the California Department of Education's (CDE's) Web site for more information.
